Large bathtubs
For a primary bathroom with space to spare, a tub of 68 inches or more lets taller bathers stretch out fully. Several of these are extra-wide too, for a roomier soak.
Bigger tubs hold more water, so check your water heater's capacity and have a contractor confirm the floor can carry a filled tub.

Will my water heater fill a large tub?
Large tubs can hold a lot of water. Compare the tub's capacity on its listing with your water heater: a small tank may run lukewarm before a big tub is full.
Do I need to reinforce the floor?
Maybe. A large filled tub with a bather is very heavy. On upper floors and in older homes, ask a contractor to check the framing before you order.
